Guide to Packing

  • Avoid leaving packing to the day before. Rushing can increase breakages.
  • Wrap all breakables in butchers paper before packing.
  • Plates should be packed on their side and glasses with the rim facing down.
  • Sharps should be well wrapped and easily identifiable.
  • Place heavier items at the bottom of the box and lighter items on the top.
  • Make sure lids are securely fastened on any liquids and pack upright.
  • Unopened wine should be packed on its side.
  • When packing cartons try not to overfill or over pack. A good indicator is to keep all boxes under 15 kgs.
  • Use the tape that seals the box as a label. Include the room the contents will live in and two key items enclosed.
  • Make sure you have everything you need on arrival in a separate box and ensure this is packed last. Red Truck provides a priority carton for this purpose
